Kip became a fan of soccer watching “Soccer Made In Germany” while growing up in Idaho, but his love took on a new chapter when he attended a Portland Timbers match in 2001.
He has followed his club throughout the world attending matches, meeting others who share his passion for soccer. He began writing about the Timbers in 2007, joined OregonLive.com in 2008 as one of their bloggers, and now enters his third year of covering the team as they transition from the United Soccer Leagues to Major League Soccer for 2011.
He also plays midfielder and defender for one of the Timbers Army football clubs in Portland, and he has appeared on various radio programs to talk about the Timbers and soccer in general. Kip also works in the financial services industry with a background in technical writing, training and systems analysis.
