Houston Dynamo’s hat trick hero, Will Bruin ran away with the MLS Player of the Week award for week 7.
His three goals helped Dominic Kinnear’s side sprint away just as effectively from DC United in Friday’s televised game.
Bruin scored in the 4th, 41st and 57th minutes to assist his side to a 4-1 win and third place in the Eastern Conference.
“The rookie out of Indiana ‘showed great finish of all three of his goals’ in Houston’s win over DC United on Friday night” according to Dan Girard of the Toronto Star.
A native of St. Louis, MO, he was selected by the Dynamo with No. 11 pick of 2011 MLS SuperDraft after three seasons at Indiana University.
Alejandro Moreno of Chivas and Brad Evans of Seattle were the only other players to register a first choice vote. Evans came up twelve times in voters’ second choices.
In the seventh week of the season, seven different clubs have now provided the winner of the MLS weekly award.
